Employer Search Tips
Tips for a Successful Search Effort
Make Your Offer Clear
Be clear what you can and cannot offer a candidate in the way of compensation, benefits, buy-ins, paid vacation time, CME, etc. An Opportunity Profile will assist you in determining these issues.
Prepare Basic Employment Contract
A basic employment contract must be ready before the first candidate visits. Modifications, if necessary, can be made during negotiations.
Market the Opportunity
Ultimately, the recruitment process is about marketing. The more effective the presentation of your facility, community, practice and yourself (as a potential colleague, employer, etc.), the better your chance of success.
Review CV's Promptly
It is essential that you review candidate CV's as soon as possible, and give SHG your evaluation in no more than 72 hours. Physician recruitment is highly competitive, especially in certain specialties. Candidates usually have several employers vying for his/her services and delays help to serve your competition.
Prepare for Site Visit
A candidate's site visit is one of the most important parts of the process, and we will advise and assist you from start to finish. However, you and your administrative staff will handle the bulk of the preparation. It is vital to designate someone such as your assistant or office manager to be in charge of this effort to insure that it runs smoothly, and be a well-informed liaison with the recruitment firm.
