DEFINE SPA & WELLNESS PROJECT
Perform preliminary work to determine your needs and desires relative to the Spa project, then determine who the customer and competition are so that the Spa & Wellness program will accomplish their goals. What type spa operation do the demographics best support? What types of complimentary alternative medicine is most in demand by your target market? What is your proximity to potential competition: resort spas, medical spas, day spas, etc.? Who are your primary or secondary competition relative to their services and treatments, price and ambiance?
DEVELOP SERVICES & TREATMENTS PROGRAM & ACCOMPANYING SPACE
Develop spa treatment program and design facility layout (including interior finishes). New spas: Assist with overall spa concept; develop the entire menu of services and space. Existing spas: Develop complimentary alternative medical treatments, services and space. Existing medical practices: Develop complimentary spa services, treatments, products, ambiance and space.
PROVIDE DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND OVERSIGHT
Work closely with the architect and general contractor in the planning and implementation stages to ensure timely and appropriate work. Develop and monitor the construction budget and schedule. Supervise the build-out and implement the interior design plan.
DEVELOP EMPLOYMENT & STAFFING PLANS
Develop all staffing policies and guidelines related to spa services and medical treatments; prepare detailed procedures manuals relating to these services and treatments. Establish performance standards, job descriptions, and recruiting and training plans.
ORDER FURNITURE, FIXTURES, & EQUIPMENT
SHG will solicit, prepare, and manage a Request for Quotation process for all purchases. SHG will place and manage all orders for spa and medical equipment, furniture, fixtures, etc.
DEVELOP SPA OPERATIONS PROCESS
Develop a detailed Business Plan that includes a five-year operations budget, staffing guide, and marketing plan.
MANAGE FINAL CONSTRUCTION PHASES
Oversee completion of interiors and installation of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Establish training schedule with vendors.
PRE-OPENING PREPARATION & OPERATIONS
Implement operations process and marketing programs. Oversee final staff training regarding spa services and medical treatments, and vendor equipment and systems (i.e., computer software, etc.). Oversee final stages of Spa pre-opening.
PROVIDE 'OPENING' OVERSIGHT & POST-OPENING ANALYSIS
Review all staff and system performance. Recommend and implement needed changes.
GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION
Develop and manage Grand Opening of new Spa.
